As a child, Linda’s mother always told her, “WASTE NOT WANT NOT if you cut a garment and you have more fabric left over than you can fit in the palm of your hand, then you have wasted”. This value has stuck with Linda to this day as she and the rest of her design team create and innovate different ways of reducing and reusing cuttings of excess fabric.
Shabby Chic Fabrics
Fabric cuttings are an inevitable by-product of the clothing
manufacturing process and pieces usually end up destined for a landfill. Linda, adhering to her “Waste-Not-Want-Not” principal, uses these
excess cuttings to create beautiful and unique fabrics, called Shabby Chic. The Shabby Chic process entails using a collage of hand placed fabric
cuttings to create one-of-a-kind fabrics and reduce waste.
