As a designer and mother of two with a busy career, creating a life that’s authentic is a challenge. Learning to accept and even appreciate my body and to resist the temptation to judge myself harshly is a part of it. But there’s also the voice of my conscience, which compels me to think about the world we are leaving our children.

For more than 20 years our Green Notes™ program of earth-friendlier fabrics has been available. Last year I sent a letter to all my fabric suppliers alerting them to my continued search for earth-friendly textiles and they delivered – some even created special textiles just for me! For Spring 2008, half of the fabrics used in my collection fall under the Green Notes™ program.

I’m betting that the authentic women I design for everywhere will choose to express their environmental consciousness through the purchase of our Green Notes™ products. As the world and the garment industry begin to wake up and play catch up, I am taking my Green Notes™ program for Fall/Winter 2008 to even “greener heights.” Stay tuned . . .
